# Verify an email and set the first password

POST https://api.finput.com.au/api/v1/auth/verify-and-set-password
Content-Type: application/json

The one-step activation behind a verification email link: verifies the address, sets the password, activates the account, and returns a token pair so the client can go straight to signed-in without a second round trip through login.

The link's token is single-use. A second attempt with the same token is refused as invalid rather than as expired. A link never reactivates an account an organisation admin has deactivated.

## Request

This endpoint expects a VerifyAndSetPasswordRequest.

- `token` (string, required) — The token carried by the verification email link.
- `password` (string, required)
- `confirm_password` (string, required)

## Response

### 200

Account activated; tokens issued.

- `tokens` (LoginResponseTokens, optional)
- `email` (string, optional)

## Errors

### 400 Bad Request Error

Missing fields, mismatched passwords, a password outside 6–68 characters, or a token that is expired, invalid or already used.

### 403 Forbidden Error

The account was deactivated by an admin. No password is set and no tokens are issued; the link is spent and only an admin can reactivate the account.
